In this first step you will be creating a sculpture or form in Styrofoam. Styrofoam is a cheap and easy to sculpt material. There are a variety of methods to cutting and sculpting foam including hot wire cutters, sanding, spraypainting (which dissolves it), and even used band saws to cut up the material.
Note: This method is by far the simplest and fastest method for creating a metal sculpture, if you are looking to create a detailed or complex form it is recommended that you use the Lost Wax or Sand Resin methods of casting.
