Once you've created your wax positive, its now time to clean up and correct and imperfections and add any last minute textures. This is the last chance you will have to alter your piece before its encased in ceramic shell and cast in metal. Wax chasing can be done in a variety of ways; you can continue to sculpt using steel sculpting tools, sand the sculpture with steel wool/ sandpaper, use solvents to dissolve parts of the wax. You can even use a blowtorch to create different effects in the wax or use organic and other materials that can be burned out in the kiln. Experimentation is OK provided you still have your plaster mold, because if you mess up you can always cast another.
